When I went to Disneyland in August I kept comparing the similar attractions. I always wanted to put my thoughts somewhere, so my blog seems like a good place. I’ll go through each attraction and if you’ve been to both resorts, I’d love to hear your opinions! First up, “it’s a small world”.

“For every laugh, there should be a tear.” Walt Disney

One of the greatest things about Disney movies is their ability to make us both laugh and cry. Disney movies are filled with so much emotion, both happy and sad. Every time I watch a Disney movie, I feel so connected to the characters that when something sad happens to them I can’t help but shed a few tears, or in case of these moments, weep like a baby.

Back in September, Disney released information on their new AVATAR Land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Since AVATAR isn’t a Disney movie, many Disney fans are concerned about the new addition to AK, coming sometime in 2013. Honestly, I think this is Disney’s way of dealing with Harry Potter World at Universal Studios, by adding a highly popular and high grossing movie with sequels they’ll turn the “half-day park” into a full day experience. I’m not a huge fan of AVATAR Land, Disney has never expressed any interest in AVATAR and I’m not seeing the tie into Animal Kingdom. But with Joe Rohde on the project, I’m sure it will turn out to be beautiful. He wouldn’t just let anything happen to AK, it’s his baby. But whatever happened to the rumored Beastly Kingdom area that never got built? I would rather see that than AVATAR Land. However, if I had it my way, Disney would be taking a total Disney approach to a new land in AK.
